Welcome to the Soft Matter and Microfluidics Lab, directed by Professor Amy Shen. Our research program concerns complex fluids and the processing of these fascinating materials by microfluidics to create morphologies and structures that can find application in the nanotechnology, biotechnology microelectronics, and energy related topics. In particular, our research focuses on digital microfluidics, droplet microfluidics, rheology and self assembly systems to design novel materials and drug delivery systems. Our research projects have been interdisciplinary and collaborative in nature, involving both experiments and computations.

Self-motivated and talented people at all levels with background/interest in microfluidics, complex fluids and rheology are welcome to contact us, tour the lab, and explore the possibility of joining our group. See more details here.
